4Drive Tunisia is a booking platform that connects travellers with local vehicle providers in Tunisia. We operate across major cities and regional hubs, giving you access to a range of vehicles - from economy hatchbacks to 4x4 pickups and SUVs suited to gravel mountain roads and desert terrain.
We work with established rental companies in each city. They handle vehicle handover, rental agreements, and on-ground support. Your contract is signed directly with the local provider when you collect the vehicle, and their contact details appear in your voucher.
Our team is based in Medina, Tunis. We process bookings, issue vouchers, and coordinate with local providers to match your travel dates and vehicle preferences.
The booking process follows four steps. First, you search for a vehicle by entering your pick-up location, dates, and preferred vehicle type. The system displays available options with specifications - engine size, transmission type, fuel policy, and accepted payment methods for the balance.
Second, you pay a booking advance online by card to secure your reservation. This is not a deposit - it forms part of the total rental amount. The remaining balance is paid when you collect the vehicle, using the payment method specified in your booking confirmation and voucher.
Third, we send you a voucher by email. It contains the rental company's name, contact details, pick-up instructions, vehicle specifications, and rental terms. Print it or save it to your device.
Fourth, you collect the vehicle at the arranged time and location. The rental company checks your driving licence, processes the balance payment, and inspects the vehicle with you. Any existing damage is recorded in the rental agreement you sign at that point.
We cover five main cities in Tunisia. Tunis is the capital and primary gateway, with TUN airport 8 km north-east of the centre via Avenue Habib Bourguiba. Hammamet sits 65 km south-east along the coastal road. Sousse is 140 km south of Tunis, and Monastir lies 20 km further along the same route.
Mahdia is 200 km from Tunis, positioned on the coast south of Monastir. Each city has local providers who manage vehicle handover - either at a counter, at the terminal, or by delivery to your hotel, depending on the company.
Many vehicle options on our platform require no upfront deposit at the point of booking or collection. This means you do not need to have funds blocked on a credit card when you pick up the vehicle. The rental company does not place a hold on your card for potential damage or fuel discrepancies.
This is independent of damage cover and excess. No deposit simply removes the temporary freeze on your card funds. The excess amount stated in your rental agreement still applies if damage occurs, and you remain responsible for returning the vehicle in the same condition as recorded at handover.
For travellers who do not hold a credit card or prefer not to have large sums blocked during their trip, this option offers flexibility. Payment methods for the balance - debit card, cash, or credit card - are specified for each vehicle at the time of booking and depend on the individual rental company's policies.
